Gallery Wendi Norris is pleased to present rare works by Leonora Carrington and Remedios Varo this week at the ADAA The Art Show.
Leonora Carrington (British/Mexican, 1917-2011) and Remedios Varo (Spanish/Mexican, 1908-1963) profoundly inspired, influenced and cared for one another. Both artists fled war-torn Europe and settled in Mexico City in the early 1940s. They were associated with the Surrealists but developed distinct artistic practices influenced by their interests in magic, natural sciences, and global mythology. At the ADAA's The Art Show, Gallery Wendi Norris presents seminal, rarely exhibited works by the two artists in an unprecedented exploration of their artistic and intellectual exchanges, offering insight into their collaborative relationship.
