Gallery Wendi Norris will present works by six artists spanning various media: Ambreen Butt, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, Chitra Ganesh, Ranu Mukherjee, Yamini Nayar, and Eva Schlegel. In Chicago, known for its focus on design and architecture, these artists, through broad-ranging media and visual languages, powerfully convey the historic, personal, and cultural implications of the body in space.
Expounding on the Gallery’s programming of contextualizing modern and contemporary art, artists, and culture, Gallery Wendi Norris presents a booth of six artists for the 2019 Expo Chicago Art Fair that range in media, aesthetic styles, and across geographies. Eva Schlegel’s experiential photographs and mirrored sculpture, on view for the first time at the fair, alongside Yamini Nayar’s abstract, photographic prints will explore the conceptual frameworks surrounding our architectural, constructed environments. These will be juxtaposed alongside water colors and collage of text on tea stained paper by Ambreen Butt, intricate line drawings by Ranu Mukherjee, and mixed media collages by Chitra Ganesh, who explore the figure and space through more sensual and explicit sensibilities.
