Please join Gallery Wendi Norris in Procession of Angels for Radical Love and Unity by artist María Magdalena Campos-Pons. Organized by Madison Square Park Conservancy in partnership with Harlem Art Park, Procession of Angels for Radical Love and Unity convenes participants to walk together from Harlem Art Park to Madison Square Park, tracing the steps of the past to build an inclusive future.
Procession of Angels for Radical Love and Unity is a collaborative initiative that brings together a multigenerational procession of people across New York City, envisioning how communities can unite as a collective force with a common purpose in turbulent times.
Over the course of two mornings, the procession will make seven stops at historically significant sites filled with agency, optimism, or trauma. These locations have been chosen by Campos-Pons for their importance to various New York City communities, including Black, Cuban, and Cuban-American populations. Each stop will feature poetry readings, culminating in an art-making workshop and music performances.
Participation is free. To learn more and register for one or both procession walks on Saturday, September 7, and Saturday, September 20 click the button below.
