"...Leonora Carrington ‘didn’t have time to be anyone’s muse’. Having left London for Paris, with the arrival of World War II, Carrington fled Europe for the US, arrived in Mexico City in 1942 and remained there for the rest of her life. ‘Landscapes of the Mind’, Wendi Norris’s curated show at Frieze Masters, celebrates the influence of Mexican and American cultures on the surrealism of artists including Carrington, Wolfgang Paalen, Alice Rahon and Dorothea Tanning."
